Sigur Rós Australian Orchestral Tour in 2025
The pride of Iceland, post-rock band Sigur Rós, are returning to Australia for orchestral performances in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. (Details for Sydney shows are expected to be confirmed soon.)
Known for blending ambient electronics with orchestral strains, and the shiver-inducing falsetto of frontman Jónsi, the band first exploded in the late ’90s when its 1999 album was named Iceland’s best of the century. The group’s 2012 album, Valtari, reached number seven on the US charts and several others have gone platinum.
They’ve played at Coachella, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza, and have sold out tours globally while also appearing on screen in Game of Thrones making mystical music.
Their new tour features lush orchestral arrangements. For their Australian tour, they will be joined by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra. (Sydney musicians to be announced.)
Presale tickets are available from 10am on Wednesday October 2, 2024 and general tickets will be available from 10am on Friday October 4, 2024. Links will be live on day of sale.
