High-speed sailing’s global championship gears up to make another splash off the Western Australia coastline in early 2027.

Following a blockbuster debut in 2026, Sail GP will return to Walyalup/Fremantle for another round of adrenaline-fuelled, close-to-shore racing – bringing the world’s fastest fleet back to Bathers Beach. The 2027 event will once again form part of the Rolex Sail GP Championship, the globetrotting series that pits national teams against each other in identical, high-tech F50 catamarans.

Teams from across the globe will battle it out across short-format races, accumulating points in the lead-up to the season’s high-stakes grand final. Expect speeds topping 100kmh as the foiling boats lift above the water in tight, tactical races just metres from shore.

Beyond the action on the water, the Fremantle event has a range of spectator experiences available. From the Waterfront Grandstand’s prime vantage point to the premium VELA Beach Club, there are options for every kind of racegoer. VELA ticket holders can expect all-inclusive hospitality, with food, drinks and unbeatable views of the course.

The 2026 event drew around 15,000 fans and saw dramatic racing in challenging conditions, setting a high bar for its return. Sail GP 2027 is shaping up to be another standout in the summer events calendar.
