The outdoor cinema will pop up again this summer in idyllic inner-city spots in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, screening the latest blockbusters, kids' films, Christmas classics and nostalgic flicks.

Moonlight Cinema has announced another summer-long season of under-the-stars movies with a season that rolls out across the nation from November until March. Head to green spaces around Australia to catch the latest blockbusters, cult classics, festive favourites, Christmas hits and special previews of upcoming flicks.

On the line-up this summer? Catch Hunger Games prequel The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, as well as Trolls Band Together and Martin Scorsese's latest, Killers of the Flower Moon. Kit yourself out in pink on December 8 and 9, when Barbie takes over Moonlight Cinema's screens, and get festive in the lead-up to Christmas with screenings of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Die Hard, Elf and Home Alone.

You can also lean into a little nostalgia with The Mighty Ducks and Jurassic Park both on this year's program. And get a preview of what's hitting screens in 2024 with advance showings of May December, starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, and Next Goal Wins, directed by Taika Waititi.

You'll be able to BYO booze everywhere except Brisbane, and you can also bring along food or buy snacks on site from the food trucks and licensed bar. There are also an array of premium tickets, offering bean beds, snacks delivered to your seat and more. And to cement the summer feeling, an Aperol Spritz cart will be on-site at each venue. Dogs are welcome at all venues but Perth.

Tickets are on sale now. More sessions and screenings will be announced in coming months.
