Late Nights at Melbourne Art Fair

In celebration of this year’s Melbourne Art Fair, Broadsheet presents the LATE NIGHTS program. In collaboration with some of Melbourne’s best arts and cultural institutions, Late Nights plays host to after-dark artist talks, live performances and exclusive events between February 21 and 25.

Featured on the line-up is contemporary dance company Lucy Guerin Inc’s Newretro:Redux a site-responsive work at Alpha60's Chapter House and major performance installation that captures the physical imprint of many generations of dancers.

Also taking place at Alpha60’s Chapter House , visitors can catch Lux Australis, a work composed by Elena Kats-Chernin, performed by the Lux Australis Ensemble and conducted by Luke Severn. Commissioned by Rationale, this evocative showcase centres on the exquisite light of Australia and six human qualities of beauty.

On Thursday night,the art world and art loving public unite at the Melbourne Art Fair Offical after party. After the Fair’s opening night Vernissage, head to The Kelvin club from 9.00pm to continue celebrating with the artworld, with music from Toni Yotzi presented by Hope St Radio. Spaces are limited, so get in quick and register to secure your spot.On Saturday February 24, head to Collingwood Yards for a celebration of art, food, music and community with studio tours, exhibition openings, live music, artist talks and cooking in the courtyard from Hope St Radio and Jason Phu.
