Khruangbin’s First Class Tour
Khruangbin is the epitome of cool – both on stage and off. The acclaimed three-piece hails from Houston, Texas, and plays its own brand of timeless, atmospheric psych-funk and delivers live performances that are equal parts enigmatic and captivating – an impressive feat for a largely instrumental group.
Drummer Donald Ray "DJ" Johnson Jr, guitarist Mark Speer and bassist Laura "Leezy" Lee will be here in November and December in what is their biggest Australian tour to date – and a second show has been announced in Brisbane.
The trio will be joined by LA tenor saxophonist and bandleader Kamasi Washington for their Melbourne Sidney Myer Music Bowl show. Mildlife will be there, too, as well as playing support in Fremantle and Brisbane. Sadly, soul crooner Leon Bridges – who joined on the four-song EP Texas Sun – will not.
Khruangbin tour dates:
Fremantle Arts Centre, Perth, Wednesday November 23
Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, Sydney, Sunday November 27
The Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane, Wednesday November 30
The Princess Theatre, Brisbane, Thursday December 1
Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne Saturday December 3
Until then, enjoy one of our fave songs by Khruangbin, Evan Finds the Third Room.
Pre-sale tickets are now on sale, with general release available on Friday April 1 at 2pm local time. Find more details here.
