Head to Instagram Live for a personal cooking lesson with Attica chef Ben Shewry and his willing student, comedian Hamish Blake.

Valentine’s Day is still 300 days away, but Hamish Blake can’t wait that long. This Thursday on Instagram, Ben Shewry, the owner-chef at Australia’s best restaurant, Melbourne’s Attica, will be helping the comedian cook a romantic dinner for his wife, Zoe Foster-Blake. And you’re invited to cook along.

Check out the ingredients list below, then jump on Blake’s Instagram Live stream at 7pm. Shewry will be guiding viewers through two schmaltzy dishes: “Red is the Colour of Love” (flambé prawn spaghetti) and “Heart-Shaped Box” (chocolate mousse) as he cooks for partner Kylie Staddon and Blake does his best to keep up.

Shewry recommends that before the stream starts, viewers prepare everything they’re able to, such as grated parmesan and chopped garlic.

“Red is the Colour of Love” flambé prawn spaghetti

Equipment
Large frypan
Large pot of boiling, salted water

Ingredients
10 prawns, de-veined and chopped
250g of the longest spaghetti you can find
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tbsp fine cognac or cheap brandy
10 basil leaves
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp butter
20g parmesan, finely grated
150ml Napoli sauce
Salt, pepper and lemon juice to taste
1 red rose, petals picked

“Heart-Shaped Box” chocolate mousse

Equipment
Piping bag
Electric mixer

Ingredients
325g dark chocolate, gently melted
500ml thickened cream
3 egg yolks, 1 whole egg
50g caster sugar
1/2 vanilla bean, seeds scraped
1 punnet raspberries
