Glass Animals: Dreamland Tour
Sometimes all I think about is... live music returning to our lives – and next year, we’ll get to hear the biggest song of lockdown 2020 played live, when Glass Animals plays three Australian shows as part of their Dreamland tour.
Heat Waves, the British electro pop band's global number-one, cracked the top spot in Triple J’s Hottest 100 this year, ahead of Perth band Spacey Jane's catchy Booster Seat. It’s now on track to become Australia’s most streamed song of 2021, with 91.1 million streams so far. The single features on Dreamland, the band’s third album, which was released at peak-pandemic in July 2020.
Teasers started dropping yesterday hinting at Australian shows, with posters of the foursome's heads spotted around Melbourne. Glass Animals will play stadium shows in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, their biggest yet down under.
Singer, songwriter and producer Dave Bayley said the video for Heat Waves was a love letter to the culture around live music and its sense of togetherness. “When everyone was leaning out of their windows filming, I felt that same sense of togetherness and spine-tingling energy that happened at live shows,” he said.
Here’s to feeling those sad-happy peanut butter vibes together again in July.
