In the Frame: Archibald Prize 2021
Peter Wegner took out this year’s Archibald Prize with a portrait of Guy Warren, a centenarian painter who himself won the Archibald in 1985 and whose winning work is displayed in the Archie 100: A Century of the Archibald Prize exhibition, currently available to view online alongside the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes exhibition. They’ll be joined by radio host and TV presenter Yumi Stynes for a free virtual talk.
The three will discuss Wegner’s award-winning portrait, as well as the challenges and triumphs of remaining creative during a global pandemic.
This talk is part of the Art Gallery of NSW’s “In the Frame” conversation series, which examines the connections between art and ideas, and looks at the issues and events impacting us most. You can view the rest of the series here.
