Hannah Gadsby’s latest standup special has landed on Netflix. It’s a lighter affair than Nanette, the show that launched the Aussie comedian to worldwide fame, but it still hilariously skewers the status quo.

Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby has dropped the follow-up to her gut-punch standup show Nanette. It premiered globally on Netflix on May 26.

Gadsby has already toured the new show, Douglas, in the US, Europe and Australia since debuting it in Melbourne in March 2019..

Douglas is a different, lighter show than Nanette and shares its name with one of Gadsby’s dogs – although it touches more obviously on James Douglas, an 18th-century medical man who named a section of female anatomy after himself.

It stays true to Gadsby’s intelligence, kookiness, empathy, instinct for absurdity, and her deftness at skewering hypocrisy and the status quo.

The standup special was filmed in Los Angeles.
