An Evening With David Sedaris
Master of satire and formidable observer of life’s minutiae David Sedaris is returning for a series of Australian shows – his sixth Australian tour and the first time he's returned to Australia since the pandemic began.
The tour will begin in Hobart, before heading to Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane, and concluding at the newly refurbished Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House.
It follows the release of his latest New York Times bestseller, Happy-Go-Lucky, a portrait of death, family and some of the strange, moving and often funny moments of the pandemic. The book debuted at number one on the New York Times non-fiction bestseller list and, seven weeks later, is still on the list.
Whether you know him from NPR and This American Life, his regular pieces in the New Yorker or his acerbic personal essays and short stories, Sedaris’s live shows are a rare chance to absorb his signature storytelling and sharp wit in person, and ask questions. And as long-time readers of his books and essays will expect, there'll be a book signing – Sedaris is renowned for signing books for everyone who lines up after his shows, often an hours-long commitment.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday August 3 via davidsedaristour.com.au. Opera House Insiders tickets are on sale from 9am on August 2.
