Axil Coffee x Jack Simpson Barista Tour

When Jack Simpson, Axil Coffee’s head of innovation, took first place at the Australian Barista Championship in June, it marked his third consecutive win in as many years. Before he heads to Milan for the World Barista Championships in October, Simpson is hitting the road for a series of exclusive industry sessions in Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Adelaide.

He’ll be joined at each two-hour event by Dave Makin, Axil Coffee founder (and a former Australian Barista Champion himself), and Matt Crowley, Axil’s director of coffee, for a wide-ranging conversation on the responsibilities of baristas today. Expect insights into ethical sourcing, quality control at scale, new fermentation methods, and what’s happening at origin. You’ll also get the chance to ask the Axil team questions in a live Q&A.

And here’s the really fun part: Simpson will spill the beans on his competition routine and the thinking behind it – and you’ll get to taste the results. Choose between an espresso or milk tasting, presented in partnership with The Alternative Dairy Co, and experience the same coffees that he served on the championship stage.
