When celebrity drivers aren’t zipping around Albert Park Circuit in world-class cars, you can be sipping bubbly, simulating a lap or hearing first-hand from industry insiders. In partnership with AGPC Travel, here’s what to do in (and around) the precinct.

The Formula 1® kicks off the season this March, and the first round takes place at none other than Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit.

While the champion drivers and adrenaline-spiking races are the main draw, there’s plenty to do in the precinct during downtime – thanks to luxe packages from Australian Grand Prix Corporation Travel.

Tickets to the below events come with a range of different packages including either a Park Pass with access to the general public areas around the circuit; Grandstand tickets with three days of reserved seating and one day of roaming grandstand access; or Hospitality tickets that include a premium range of food and beverage options, such as The Apex beer garden, panoramic rooftop Race Club, The Palms restaurant and more.

Sound good? Here’s how to make the most of the race days.

Ultimate Motorsport Dinner

Kick off the weekend with dinner at the Crown Palladium, which includes a three-course meal, beverages and a panel of motorsport personalities. The package also includes either four or five nights at your pick of accommodation in Melbourne, all in close proximity to Albert Park. Choose between Dorsett, Quincy Hotel, Sofitel, Crown Metropol and more.

Chandon Winery brunch or lunch

Before the excitement of the races, get out of the city and into Domaine Chandon in the Yarra Valley’s rolling hills. Taste its range of sparkling wine alongside sweet and savoury nibbles, and learn about the winemaking process. Level up a notch and opt for lunch, which is a five-course degustation menu paired with Etoile – Chandon’s most prestigious wine. The package includes return hotel transfers, so you won’t have to worry about logistics, alongside six nights at Le Meridien over the Grand Prix ™ weekend.

Helicopter joy flight

See the Albert Park Circuit from the sky with a scenic helicopter flight – it’s one of the most exciting packages on offer. You’ll fly above the world-famous track and take in views of the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip Bay. The package also includes a four-night stay from your choice of central hotel.
