The Trailer for The Bear’s Final Season Has Dropped – and Our Faves Have Nothing Left To Lose

If you were hoping that the trailer for The Bear’s final season include a kitchen humming with harmony, Syd (Ayo Edebiri) getting a well-deserved spa day, and the Berzattos booking into family therapy, then we have bad news for you.

The trailer for the final season of the hit FX show (which airs on Disney+ in Australia) dropped this morning. The action picks up the morning after Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) announced he was quitting the restaurant industry and leaving his shares in the restaurant to Syd, Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Natalie (Abby Elliott).

“It’s our last day. We’re out of time,” says Edwin Lee Gibson’s Ebra in the opening shots of the trailer. It rings particularly true for a show that’s been racing the clock for the last several seasons, but the scrappy and resourceful cast of characters is used to making something out of nothing.

Now, their leader’s hung up his apron, the restaurant’s flooded, they’ve got no money, they’re running out of food and the building’s being sold. They’ve got nothing left to lose.

Throughout the eight episodes of season five, which will all drop simultaneously on Friday June 26, the new partners are banding together for one final service, hoping they’ll finally earn the Michelin star that Carmy’s been chasing since season three.

Since its debut in 2022, The Bear has released five seasons – and the recent standalone episode Gary – in four years and picked up 21 Emmys and five Golden Globes. Over those four years, it put its stars on the map, locked the phrase “Yes chef” into global vernacular, and lured A-list stars to the small screen with guest and supporting performances from the likes of Sarah Paulson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, Brie Larson, Rob Reiner, Will Poulter and Olivia Colman. It also earnt praise from chefs and restaurateurs for its accurate portrayal of life in the hospitality industry – thanks to the work of culinary producer Courtney Storer and Canadian chef Matty Matheson, who plays fix-it guy turned unlikely front-of-house gem Neil Fak in the series.
