With summer fast approaching, festival season is officially on the way – and this year’s Wildlands Festival is a date to save.
Among the headliners this year is US rapper Ice Spice, who is no stranger to the Australian festival scene. Last year she brought the heat to Sydney’s Listen Out festival, and this year she’s also on the bill at Beyond the Valley in Hesse, Victoria. Her return Down Under accompanies the release of her new album Y2K!, which features collaborations with Travis Scott, Gunna and Central Cee.
Another Wildlands headliner is Gold Coast DJ and producer, FISHER. A Grammy and Aria nominee, FISHER’s crowd-pleasing tech-house tracks – such as Losing It, Take it Off and Somebody – are some of the biggest dance hits of recent years.
British electronic music duo Chase & Status will also make an appearance. Since 2003, this drum’n’bass pair have been delivering cutting-edge beats that fuse pop, rock, reggae and hip-hop.
American singer-songwriter Tinashe will also perform, fresh from the drop of her seventh studio album Quantum Baby – her single Nasty scored a spot on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Sydney guitar-pop duo Royel Otis, famous for their cover of ’90s hit Murder on the Dancefloor will also appear at Wildlands this year.
WA’s sammythesinner will bring her experimental rave music to Wildlands Festival in Brisbane and Perth (sorry Adelaide!), immersing festivalgoers in soulful vocals and elevated sound textures.
First Nations artist Djanaba will make her Wildlands Festival debut, with a range of original and uplifting electro-pop anthems.
Other acts include Marlon Hoffstadt, Sammy Virji, Wilkinson, RL Grime, Becky Hill, horsegiirL, Confidence Man, Joy Anonymous, Lola Young, Barkaa, Malugi, Sam Alfred, Hannah Laing, Issey Cross, Messie, Little Fritter, 1tbsp, Moss and GiRLTHING.
