Paul Kelly has announced a 2025 Australian and New Zealand tour – and he’ll be playing the biggest venues of his lengthy career. The singer-songwriter, who has told the story of Australia through his tunes for the past several decades, will play nine arenas to support his upcoming album Fever Longing Still, which will be released on November 1 and takes its name from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 147.
The tour will kick off at Perth’s RAC Arena on August 26, 2025, finishing in Auckland on September 12. Kelly – famed for songs including How to Make Gravy, To Her Door, From St Kilda to Kings Cross and From Little Things Big Things Grow – will be supported by multiple Grammy-winner Jason Isbell, a US singer-songwriter and former member of Southern rock group Drive-By Truckers who’ll be backed by his live band 400 Unit. The opening act for the Australian leg of the tour is country musician and Aria- and Golden Guitar-winner Fanny Lumsden, while New Zealand shows will be opened by singer-songwriter Reb Fountain.
Kelly will be joined by his live band featuring Peter Luscombe, Bill McDonald, Dan Kelly, Cameron Bruce, Jess Hitchcock and Ash Naylor. Frontier member tickets go on sale at 3pm on October 28 and general public tickets on sale at 3pm on October 30.
