The hit comedy podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno is returning to Australia in 2020 for a five-city tour – the first live performances before it takes its new show across the globe.

Since launching in 2015, the show has racked up over 160 million downloads across four seasons, with hosts Jamie Morton, James Cooper and BBC Radio 1 presenter Alice Levine narrating Belinda Blinked, an often misguided and ridiculous attempt at a pornographic novel written by Morton’s 60-something father.

The trio were last in Australian in 2017, selling out venues across the country as they read Morton’s dad’s erotica. This time they’ll be making stops in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Morton senior, who writes under the nom de plume Rocky Flintstone, decided to try his hand at writing porn after the success of Fifty Shades of Grey – and it’s not all been good. The three hosts hilariously analyse ill-informed, wannabe-erotic phrases such as “her tits hung freely, like pomegranates” and nipples that are “as long as the three-inch rivets which held the hull of the fateful Titanic together”.

The fourth season of My Dad Wrote A Porno wrapped last year, and the hosts have recently starred in an HBO special, reading a “lost chapter” of the book. They have a fifth season on the way.

Details are scarce about what will actually happen during the show, but precedence indicates it’ll be dirty (kind of), sexual (somewhat) and hilarious (100 per cent).
