It was only a few months ago that LCD Soundsystem backed up their headlining set at Splendour in the Grass with sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The shows were great, but being just a couple of months before the release of American Dream – the band’s first new album in seven years – some of the new songs still had pillow marks on their faces.

Now that the last creases of that seven-year hiatus have been ironed out, we can’t wait to hear the new songs – many of which are the weirdest of the band’s career – in all their psychedelic glory.

In February Australian audiences will get a taste of the new material alongside favourites All My Friends, Pow Pow, Sound of Silver and Daft Punk is Playing at My House. The four shows are all ages.

LCD will be supported by Nick Murphy (aka Chet Faker). Murphy came to fame on the back of a tasteful cover of Blackstreet’s No Diggity, before reaching first place on the ARIA Australian albums chart with Built on Glass.

Tickets go on sale Thursday November 30, through Ticketmaster (Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane) and Ticketek (Sydney).
