With summer comes the outdoor-cinema season, and American Express Openair Cinemas is rolling out to seven locations across the nation.
In Sydney (Pyrmont, Bondi and a to-be-confirmed location in the inner west), Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and the Gold Coast, you can catch new releases such as Beautiful Boy, First Man, Boy Erased and Bad Times at the El Royale, or Christmas-themed flicks such as Elf and Love, Actually. Dirty Dancing is in there for old times’ sake.
General admission gives you access to the screening (plus a rug to spread on the grass), and there’s an option to add loungers or picnic chairs to your ticket, too.
There’s food and drinks available to purchase, though the event is also BYO, so pack your picnic goods. In Melbourne, you’ll be able to get the very excellent woodfired pizzas by Ladro, and Sydneysiders can snack on food by Salt Meats Cheese. 4Pines beer and Pimms cocktails are also available.
Importantly, all screenings are dog-friendly.
Tickets to sessions in most cities are available now. More information here.
