Trevor Noah, the host of Comedy Central’s late-night political talk show The Daily Show, has just announced an Australian tour.
The South African stand-up comedian and host can speak eight languages and frequently uses accents and impersonations in his comedy. He took over from The Daily Show’s second host Jon Stewart in 2015. Noah had been working as the show’s senior international correspondent since 2014.
The Daily Show show features interviews interspersed with satirical segments and monologues that dissect the week’s news and current events. Under Stewart’s tenure the show focussed on the 24-hour news cycle, frequently lampooning Fox News.
Noah has a broader focus that takes into account online news as well as traditional broadcast news.
Noah has also made nine comedy specials including his most recent called Afraid Of The Dark.
Other notable comedians including Stephen Colbert and John Oliver also got their starts on The Daily Show.
