Turns out all those sneaky billboards were right. Charli XCX will headline Laneway 2025. The British pop star is oh-so-hot right now, having single-handedly rebranded the word “brat” and the colour chartreuse – and joins Gwyneth Paltrow and Steve Jobs as one of the biggest fans of apples.
Her performances at Laneway will be her only shows in Australia and New Zealand. It’s a massive get for the festival, and organisers have hinted they’ll be celebrating Charli XCX’s return by turning “a few national landmarks green over the next couple of days”.
Joining Miss 365 will be fellow Brits beabadoobee, UK dance legends Bicep (who will be presenting their new AV DJ show) and effortlessly cool neo-soul star Olivia Dean. Alternative pop princess Remi Wolf is also returning to the festival, as is Scottish producer Barry Can’t Swim.
Also on the line-up are local musos Skegss, Brisbane band Girl and Girl, and electronic artists Ninajirachi, STÜM and RONA.
Laneway Festival programming coordinator Ruby Miles said in a statement: “This has to be my favourite Laneway line-up we’ve ever put together – I’m such a fangirl of all of these artists! Having Charli XCX as our headliner is a dream come true.”
Registration for pre-sale tickets is open now. The pre-sale will run from Tuesday October 15 at 10am for 23 hours. General ticket sales begin on Wednesday October 16 at 10am.
