Penguin Random House is hoping to challenge our pre-conceived ideas by setting us up on a blind date.

Teaming up with Books on the Rail and Street Library, the publisher will be distributing little bundles of joy on Wednesday February 14, or rather, wrapped books by local and international writers, so people can discover an author or genre they might have otherwised overlooked.

These packages will be placed on public transport systems in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, with the book ninjas also dropping paperbacks in secret locations across the city of Sydney.
