Zachary Hanna may have won the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Design Award for his hybrid design Stack lamp, but it still had to be brought to life.

Enter Cult Design, the Chippendale furniture designer and retailer whose founder and managing director Richard Munao is one of the contest’s mentors. Under the guidance of Munao and Canberra fine-furniture craftsman Rolf Barfoed, Hanna got to see his sustainable idea for a combined lamp, bookshelf and side table come to painstaking fruition.

In the video above, Munao and his trusted team of craftspeople work step-by-step with Hanna in the lead-up to Stack’s launch as part of the Cult Design NAU range at the prestigious Denfair trade show in Melbourne. The limited-edition lamp is now on sale at Cult’s showroom in Chippendale.
