To celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 90th, we asked some of our favourite creators to reflect on Mickey’s relevance and craft a unique item inspired by the character.

“As a little kid I wanted to do something great,” says Benjamin Young, founder of Frank Green, an eco-friendly Melbourne company making reusable coffee cups and water bottles. “To do something great you’ve got to have something that’s very different. To stand out you’ve got to be original.”

When asked to contribute to the celebrations around Mickey Mouse’s 90th, Young oversaw the creation of a reusable cup in classic black and white featuring Mickey’s iconic silhouette. In the video below, watch Young in the Frank Green headquarters working on the cup and discussing staying true to an artistic vision.
