For Melbourne artist Beci Orpin, the long-term collateral of being a visual artist is that each work forms part of a personal timeline. In this way, Orpin can trace her influences in reverse.
“One of my all-time favourite influences is the movie Fantasia,” she says. “That process of taking all your influences and producing it in a way that is only you, is originality. The more you work, the more you see how your style develops.”
