Slowdown Studio’s Vibrant, Artist-Collab Throws Are Coming Home

Slowdown Studio made its name overseas with tapestry-style throws created in collaboration with illustrators and artists from around the world.
But after 10 years in Los Angeles, the brand – founded and run by Aussies – is finally setting up shop back home, bringing cheaper shipping and an end to weeks-long waits for long-wishlisted pieces.
Most of the collection is woven from 100 per cent cotton, featuring bold motifs that double as wall art (wall-hanger clips are available, too). Works include projects with Australian illustrator Micke Lindebergh, Uruguayan creative Maitaimai and dozens of emerging creatives from Berlin to Brooklyn.
Beyond blankets, the range extends to cushions, glassware and bath mats – though it’s the limited-edition throws that cement the brand’s cult status. Each design is made to last, crafted in the US using recycled fibres and ethical production methods.
