It’s a sleek, blue bullet-style vibrator that gives you an hour of uninterrupted pleasure. Its makers say it’ll “get you to your holiday happy place in no time”.

Vacation Vibes is a brand-new Aussie company selling just one thing: a really chic personal massage device. It’s the first product by the female-led company, who are also behind the sexual wellness website Happy Collective.

“We wanted to capture that feeling you get when you pack a suitcase, jump on a plane and relax,” says co-founder Julia Marget. “The Amalfi, for us, was a natural first stop in the range as it’s the first place we all wanted to escape to post-pandemic. The design, the shape and the concept needed to be beautiful … [It’s] a vibe that can sit on your bedside table, not looking at all out of place next to your skincare products.”

Co-founders Marget, Anthea Hawkins and Emma Haworth say it’s a beautiful product that’ll “get you to your holiday happy place in no time”. The Amalfi is a USB-charged vibrator with five speed settings; you can play with it for up to an hour before it needs to be recharged (which takes up to two hours). It’s reasonably priced at $39.99, and you can get it shipped to any Australian address free of charge.

“[It’s] a product designed by women for women,” says Marget. “The Amalfi Coast is my favourite destination. I had my honeymoon there and many trips since with my family and friends.”

The bullet-style vibrator is compact, made of silicone and ABS (a thermoplastic polymer) and it’s water-resistant – so not for use in the shower or bath, but good for using with lubricant. You can use it for internal or external pleasure and it’s relatively quiet – with a maximum of 40 decibels.

Marget says there are more products in the pipeline too, including eco-friendly lubricants, wipes and female-focused condoms. There’ll also be more vibrators – The Miami, The Aspen and a fourth vibrator, which shoppers can help name through a competition.

“We wanted to create our own series of wellness and pleasure products that elevated the sex toy category to a new and different place in the minds of Australian consumers … Pleasure is a critical part of the total wellness picture and the emergence of this growing category – sexual wellness – is a critical and important component.”

You can also read erotic stories written by women for women in the Vacay Reads section of Vacation Vibes’ website. It’s written by Katie Clitherow and the first story, Amorous in Amalfi, is a “titillating tale [that] takes you to the Amalfi Coast with Charli, our protagonist,” says Marget.

You can find The Amalfi on Vacation Vibes’ website and at Happy Collective. It’ll also be launched into other major national retailers soon.
