Brisbane-based activewear label Active Truth, founded in 2016, specialises in supportive everyday workout gear designed for all sizes, body shapes and stages of life, with fits from XS to 3XL.
The range is comprised of high-waisted leggings in three lengths, bike shorts, T-shirts and crop tops. There are options for pregnant women and those who’ve just given birth (one of the crop tops even has magnetic clasps for breastfeeding) with plenty of eye-catching colours and patterns.
“When we launched online all we were seeing were women with thigh gaps and six packs, and it was all very ‘inspirational’. I didn’t find that very inspirational or aspirational – it actually didn’t resonate with me at all and it made me feel bad about myself,” co-founder Nadia Tucker told Broadsheet in June.
“So we decided we were going to make activewear for women from size 6 to 26 on our full range – not just our bestsellers or a handful of products.”
For its next campaign Active Truth will ditch professional models in favour of 10 customers. The label is calling on Australian women to photograph or film themselves in their activewear, doing their favourite workouts. That could be yoga in the living room, a walk around the park or a family game of backyard cricket.
To feature in the campaign you don’t need to be an athlete or a photographer – you can use a smart phone and Active Truth will provide the outfits (which you can keep) as well as art direction. None of the label’s campaigns are ever photoshopped, and this one will be no exception.
Apply online before August 18, 2020. Successful applicants will be notified in mid-August and sent garments to keep.
