Bistro Elba serves a taste of the French Riviera in a space reminiscent of a quaint French seaside holiday home. With eclectic art adorning the walls, the seaside bistro offers an elevated culinary experience with a keen focus on seafood.

Anchored in the lush land and seascapes of the Mornington Peninsula, the menu is respectfully local and seasonal, with ingredients sourced from the bistro’s farm garden, near Daylesford.

Start with bistro-style entrees – from caviar to a moreish twice-baked cheese soufflé, a petite friture (literally “small fry”) of crispy fried cuttlefish and hand-cut steak tartare with free-range egg yolk and crisps.

Move onto the main menu, and you’ll find dishes synonymous with French gastronomy – including O’Connor grass-fed eye fillet, and a bourride, or fish stew, of wild-caught trumpeter fillet and mussels – complemented by a generous sides menu that features the bistro’s roasted russet potatoes.

The same credo applies to the wine list, highlighting small, high-quality French producers alongside local wine makers.

While the dessert menu offers decadent French classics, including tarte au citron and crème au miel with roasted rhubarb, the pièce de résistance is the bistro’s dedicated cheese menu– featuring carefully selected French fromage such as Bongrain Brie Mon Père with prosecco jelly.

Reserve a spot between 5pm and 6pm any day of the week to enjoy premium, hand-selected Sydney rock oysters at half price.
