Bistro Elba serves a taste of the French Riviera in a space reminiscent of a quaint French seaside holiday home. With eclectic art adorning the walls, the seaside bistro offers an elevated culinary experience with a keen focus on seafood.

Anchored in the lush land and seascapes of the Mornington Peninsula, the menu is respectfully local and seasonal, with ingredients sourced from the bistro’s farm garden, near Daylesford.

Start with bistro-style entrees – from oysters to a moreish twice-baked cheese soufflé, a petite friture (literally “small fry”) of crispy fried whitebait and gin-cured ocean trout with citrus, sorrel and nasturtium.

Move onto the main menu, and you’ll find dishes synonymous with French gastronomy – including O’Connors grass-fed eye fillet, and confit duck leg with du puy lentils and turnips – complemented by a generous sides menu that features the bistro’s roasted russet potatoes.

The same credo applies to the wine list, highlighting small, high-quality French producers alongside local wine makers.

While the dessert menu offers decadent French classics, including spiced crème brûlée and dark chocolate mousse with red vermouth sorbet, the pièce de résistance is the bistro’s dedicated cheese menu– featuring carefully selected French fromage such as Le Delice des Cremiers triple cream with quince.

Reserve a spot between 5pm and 6pm any day of the week to enjoy premium, hand-selected Sydney rock oysters at half price.
