In the summer of 2021, seven top Melbourne galleries temporarily decamped to the Mornington Peninsula for the first Quarantine Art Fair. Now, four years later, the fair’s second installment has returned to the picturesque grounds of Point Nepean National Park in Portsea with an expanded gallery list and 60 artists on show.
Galleries occupy a 125-year-old residence, filling rooms with painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics and textiles – in every conceivable size – by established and emerging Australian artists from Howard Arkley and Atong Atem to Jun Chen and James Drinkwater.
Presenting galleries include Kalli Rolfe Contemporary Art, Lon Gallery, Mars, Murray White Room, Nicholas Thompson Gallery, Sarah Scout Presents, Sophie Gannon Gallery, Station and This Is No Fantasy from Melbourne, as well as a group show supported by Agency Projects that features works by indigenous artists from cooperatives including Papunya Tula Artists, Buku-Larrnggay Mulka, Waringarri Arts and Maningrida Arts & Culture.
The fair runs from Thursday January 9 to Saturday January 11, 12pm to 6pm.
Tickets cost $25 online, and $30 at the door.
