Hawkes Farm
Features
Hawkes Farm is a working farm and farmgate that specialises in sustainable and affordable produce. The Hawkes family bought the 140-acre farm in the early 1970s. Now the farm grows its own carrots, onions, radishes, corn, parsley and strawberries.
But the potatoes are the real standout vegetable at Hawkes Farm – especially the kipfler variety. The spuds are used in the hot chip van outside the shop, positioned by the picnic tables and the veggie patch. The hand-cut and triple-fried delicacies are a great treat to have after you finish your shop (it’s only open on weekends, though).
In addition to produce grown at Hawkes Farm, the shop stocks local staples such as Tuerong Farm flour, truffle aioli and honey from Red Hill Truffles, Johnny Ripe pies, Mock’s sparkling juices, and bread from Peninsula Baker Boys and Rye Sourdough Co.
There’s a coffee machine grinding a local blend by Boneo Road Roasters, and you can grab a cake or treat by The Hidden Kitchen in Tootgarook.
Hawkes Farm also has an online click-and-collect shop. Just drive up and the team will run it over to your car boot.
