Features
Two Chiles is an unassuming Chilean restaurant, pumping out honest, hearty (two-hander) sangas that make the ungodly junction of Punt and St Kilda roads worth the trek.
The star here is the five-ingredient, no-frills churrasco sandwich featuring thinly pounded steak cooked a la plancha (griddled or pan-fried), a technique popular in Chile and across Latin America. The steak is cooked to order and paired with tomato, mayo and chunky mashed avo, and served on a floury bap-style white roll. Otherwise, find Chilean dishes like Charquican with a fried egg; chorizo and lentil soup; and whopping hot dogs.
There’s no way to tackle a Two Chiles sandwich without getting your fingers (and face) involved. Skip the extra napkins and wait to clean up after the last glorious bite.
