Want to mastermind a Yarra River staycation for you and five of your closest friends? That’s the thinking behind a new one-off competition that allows entrants to create their own adventure on Melbourne’s main arterial waterway.
The $10,000 tailor-made three-day weekend might include options such as accommodation at Southbank’s five-star hotel The Langham Melbourne, your pick of meals from Southbank’s many restaurants, or perhaps a helicopter flight over Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.
More options? A boat trip on the river with catering and drinks provided, a show at Hamer Hall or The Sidney Myer Music Bowl, or go large at floating bars such as Arbory Afloat and Ponyfish Island. Perhaps you might like to while away the hours browsing ACMI and the NGV, or take the whole family to Sea Life aquarium, up to Eureka 88 for spectacular views, or to Jurassic World by Brickman in the Exhibition Centre. The choice is yours.
To enter, all you need to do is name three attractions in the Yarra River Precinct and write about what you like most about the precinct. Easy.
Two winners will score the weekend prize: one drawn in mid-May and one in late June. In between, entrants will be in the running for a weekly draw of things to do and see all around the precinct.
