The Gunditjmara people are the traditional custodians of the lands stretching from Portland all the way to Warrnambool along the Shipwreck Coast. They possess one of the world’s oldest enduring cultures, with an oral history detailing the last eruption of the Tower Hill volcano more than 30,000 years ago.

Today, Aboriginal co-operative Worn Gundidj runs daily guided tours of this dormant volcano and the surrounding bushland. Tours leave daily at 11am and 1pm from the Tower Hill Visitor Centre, just 10 minutes’ drive from Koroit.
