The result of the partnership between Bridget McCall and Nicholas Van Messner, LIFEwithBIRD has designs that tread the line between simplicity and modernity. Trench coats and well-cut dresses sit alongside jumpsuits and their distinctive prints, often in sheer fabrics. In-house leather bags and jewellery from Australian designers complete the mix.

Although situated in a number of very different locations – a tiny Flinders Lane nook, an industrial terrace in Brunswick Street, Chadstone Shopping Centre and a space on the busy retail strip of Chapel Street – the stores are tied together by their all-white interiors, presenting a blank canvas against which to appreciate the collections.

It’s clear that LIFEwithBIRD is striving for a little extra something in its retail experience, while at all times keeping its crisp, occasionally conceptual, clothing at the centre of everything.
