Boasting bay views, a fresh menu and a cool setting, Morgan’s Beach Shack is a seaside venture by restaurateurs and owners of Royal Saxon, Paul Olynyk and Julian Gerner.
Open for lunch and dinner daily, the beach theme is carried throughout the restaurant; from the nautical-kitsch décor (think lifebuoys, sailing ropes and surf paraphernalia) to the menu packed with fish and chips, pork burgers with jalapeno, calamari salads, oysters, tacos and scoops of Jock’s ice cream.
Sit next to the Endless Summer poster inside the large space, or if it’s not too hot, grab an outside table on the Esplanade with a cold Corona or a frozen cocktail and watch the Sorrento-to-Queenscliff ferry leave port. The service can be a little patchy, but, reflecting its name, Morgan’s Beach Shack is just that: a simple place on the coast where the breathtaking ocean views are the real highlight.
With miniature tables for the little ones, a table tennis set up for the restless and ample outdoor seating for the sun seekers, Morgan’s is a place to eat and drink away a summer’s afternoon in Sorrento.
