You may forget you’re in a retail store as you sit to flick through an interior design tome beside the potbelly stove. At The Windsor Annex, the space is just as considered as the products.

Predominately a clothing store, The Windsor Annex stocks select pieces from Elwood Apparel Co. for men and women. Paying homage to the great outdoors, the range includes casual daywear such as plaid shirts, tailored trousers, classic neutral tone knits and durable coats to face the elements in. It also stocks products from around the globe, chosen to complement the clothing range. You’ll see Red Wing boots and Stanley flasks for men, Jacqueline Evans skincare for women and even Play Forever model cars and planes for children.

Situated on Chapel Street, Windsor, the store evokes the feeling of stepping into a country cabin. Hecker Guthrie Architects designed the store with the help of Melbourne studio Hunt&Co. The pale-timber floor is complemented by cosy rugs. Among the shelves and metal racks there are subtle touches of soft leather and greenery. There is even a stack of firewood beside the potbelly stove for that homey touch.
