It started with a chance meeting. Commercial photographer Hugh Peachey and fashion stylist Zoe West met at a party they both weren’t invited to. Taking note of each other’s unique style, Peachey asked the other party guests, “Who invited her?”

A creative and romantic partnership ensued, and the store came to fruition in April 2013. Stocking high-end European labels such as Pantanetti Calzature, Charlie Joe and Vanessa Bruno, each piece is chosen to express a bohemian-luxe feel. KT Jewellery and HTC accessories are also available.

West’s own label, Billie Rose, is named after the couple’s child. It’s made up of 100 per cent-silk pieces and hand-designed leather accessories.

The store’s staff members double as freelance stylists, so shopping here feels like playing dress ups under the helpful eye of an expert. West hopes this encourages women to have pieces matched to their individual colourings as well as to their personal style.

One of Peachey’s black-and-white photographs stands on a wall-length canvas at the back of the shop. It comes from a project he and West worked on together, and acts as a constant reminder of a couple with creativity and a story to tell.
