If you’re looking for a beer from an up-and-coming gypsy brewer, a bottle of wine from a small vineyard or a spirit from a boutique distillery, A Point of Difference is a good place to start.

With more than 850 beers, 350 wines and 500 spirits available at any time, you’re sure to find what you want. But if they don’t have it, they’ll source it for you. When a customer once called looking for a particular gin, the staff had found two bottles for her by the afternoon.

Owner Roger Sauer has over 40 years’ experience in the industry and has done it all, from owning a franchise to working for the big chains and in partnership. In the end, he wanted the final say over what he stocked.

Unlike some of his competitors, Sauer doesn’t have an overly selective range. He stocks everything that will possibly fit in the store. It can be overwhelming, but just ask the team for help or head in for one of the Friday night tastings and ease into it.
