Features
Filipino cafe Pecks Road first opened in Caroline Springs in 2022. Its second outpost neighbours Elio’s Place on Flinders Lane.
Ube is always on the menu, whether in doughnut or drink form. The bestseller is the ube polvoron – this purple-on-purple creation sees a bombolone filled with whipped ube cream and coated in ube sugar. Or go for glazed doughnuts and Caramilk crullers made using a three-day process.
There are also sandwiches, including the “Filipino banh mi” with chicharron (fried pork rinds) and pork marinated in Peck’s Pinoy barbeque sauce, and the longanisa Peck-muffin – a take on a McMuffin where baked egg, Filipino longanisa (sausage), American cheese, house-made southwest and barbeque sauces are served on an English muffin.
