With its cool, white walls, parquetry floor, curved, metal bench seats and scattering of sparkling ornamental skulls, this light, minimalist store feels like an art gallery for shoes.
The selected merchandise is expertly considered and positioned on-shelf. Ample space between items encourages not only browsing but the thoughtful consideration of the colourful array of shoes (from sparkly silver and gold flats to a cow-print wedge), luxurious handbags and designer sunglasses. International shoe brands include Dieppa Restrepo, B Store, Opening Ceremony and Osklen (which uses recycled fabrics and leathers), while the vintage sunglass range includes pieces by Givenchy and Christian Dior.
Co-owner Lena Mendez explains that she likes helping customers style their whole look, dressing them from the feet up. In line with this horse-inspired theme, Mendez and business partner Lauren Nicholls also own the fashion and homewares store across the road, Filly’s Stable.
