It’s not every day that you’re able to walk into a store and see a designer making their product right in front of you. But, at Keegan in Clifton Hill, you can do just that. A unique public workspace that promotes transparency in an industry that can often be a lot of smoke and mirrors, owner and designer Keegan Hunt sees the importance in building a relationship between the customer, designer and product.
Hunt, who is also co-owner of Swoon in Hawthorn, launched her fashion line Keegan at the 2013 LMFF. The women’s clothing line features capes, jackets, dresses, skirts and pants and highlights a juxtaposition between draping and structural. The garments are comfortable and versatile, with sharp tailoring and soft lines. Above all, Hunt believes fashion should be wearable.
Along with the Keegan label, the store also showcases ten carefully selected Australian jewellery designers, including Kim Victoria, EAT.ME.DO and Flock Curiosity Assembly. The store also stocks Tanja Kozub knitwear, specifically chosen to complement the Keegan label.
With an emphasis on Australian designed and made, Keegan is testament to the immense quality, diversity and talent coming out of our country.
