Features

Coolas Ice Creamery is home to 24 tubs of colourful ice-creams that sit inside plastic showcases. All the classic flavours are all there: peppermint choc chip; hokey pokey; bubblegum; rainbow and vanilla supreme.

Recently Coolas expanded into more adventurous flavour territory. Rock-salt caramel and Baileys with scorched almonds are two such additions.

Aside from ice-cream there are milkshakes, thickshakes, cheesy hot dogs, toasted waffles, coffee, sundaes and hot potatoes with a variety of toppings. The ice creamery is famous in the area for its homemade waffle cones – it sells 400 to 1500 a day.

Owner Trish Granger retired in Halls Gap and bought the ice creamery after visiting regularly when passing through town. One of her biggest changes was installing the popular ice-cream furniture out the front. Hikers returning from the Grampians Peak Trail often sit on an ice-cream cone to enjoy a sugar rush.
