Every piece of clothing at Blonde Venus is made and designed in Melbourne, individually cut and finished by hand. Designer Marietta Marlow uses a selection of vintage and contemporary fabrics, all of the highest quality.
Colourful woollen coats, sleek black wraps and dresses made from vintage lace strike a balance between classic and modern, and are just a few of the sumptuous offerings at this small boutique. Marlow and her husband, Hayden, started Blonde Venus in 1974, and have been operating out of Crossley Street for 14 years.
Marlow’s knowledge of different fashion eras is evident throughout her designs, which incorporate fluid shapes, expertly placed pleats and unexpected details. All pieces are made in limited numbers, which enhances their appeal for those seeking an individual look.
