Blue Mini

Tuesday
7:00am - 3:00pm
2 2 Colchester Road Rosebud 3939

Blue Mini is an eatery and emporium in the old Rosebud Ten Pin Bowling Centre. It’s a hub for things made, grown and produced in the Mornington Peninsula.

During 2020’s strict Covid lockdowns, owner Tracey Fleming flipped her cafe into an emporium to help local market stallholders stay afloat. The initiative grew rapidly. And now the retail offering is here to stay.

Walk in now, and you’ll spot towering displays of Ridge Estate Olives, Boat Shed cheeses, sculptures, homewares, beauty products and bouquets from Peninsula Wild Flower.

Much of the bowling alley’s charming fit-out and decor remains intact. The old 12-lane alley is now a spacious dining hall with mismatched mid-century furniture and retro brand icons such as Skipping Girl Vinegar and Peters Ice-Cream, painted on the wall. The garden courtyard welcomes dogs and kids, and the front room’s a bright and sunny indoor option.

Brunch is available all day with a mix of classics and more adventurous choices, such as the tea-smoked salmon with zucchini ribbons and minted pea puree. Veggie options include a warm pumpkin and grain salad with tahini and crisp chickpeas.

The cold drinks menu comprises “old fashioned iced milks” and plant-based smoothies with alternative milk options. Coffee is by local roasters Boneo Road. Blue Mini is fully licensed, so enjoy lunch with a glass of local Crittenden chardonnay or a bottle of Mock’s classic apple cider.
