Features
Centred around Italian and Mediterranean-inspired food, Romulus & Remus is founded on an innate human principle: feasting with family and friends. A former indoor golf range, the 160-seat space - designed by Zone Architects -doesn’t feel too vast, and is softened by several olive trees, booths and an impressive glass wine display.
Together with chef Mathew English, owners Renton Carlyle-Taylor and Mark Hopkinson have created a menu that is designed to share. You can choose from the selection of salumi on display, or a couple of pizzas or pastas with some of the bigger dishes. With a focus on local produce, the menu will also be seasonal, as will the rotating craft beer on tap.
This is the place where you can enjoy a plate of antipasti and a glass of local house red, or a banquet complete with a bottle of Grange. Just like you were seated at a friend’s table, the tone of Romulus & Remus is informal and communal — the perfect setting for a feast.
