Down the inauspicious local strip in Ivanhoe, Va Tutto may catch you slightly unawares. But as this little gem's name's translation suggests, sometimes anything goes.

Coming from Zio’s in East Melbourne, owners Paul and Myrto Recinella decided to pack up and move a little further out of town. Taking a wealth of knowledge about fine Melbourne dining with them; the duo didn’t settle into a relaxing suburban lull. Instead, they built upon the idea of creating an oasis of quality food outside of the city.

The carefully constructed modern Italian cuisine, fused with Asian flavours and techniques, creates a menu of exciting and varied dishes. Offering delicate folded prawn wontons, to gnocchi rolled out and cut by practiced hands, Va Tutto has created a cohesive menu from which you can mix and match dishes of several cuisines and still end up with a great meal.

This cleverly designed restaurant offers its diners a formal lounge with lush chairs and thick, creamy tablecloths for a special night out or business lunch. Or you can take the wooden tabletops near the large, bright windows of the bistro for a more relaxed meal. Whichever you chose, you’ll get a great view into the large open kitchen where you can see vibrant dishes pouring out, and a nice view of what’s up for dessert.
