Features
Stop Whining’s is owned by a family who also runs seafood restaurant Muli, in Carlton, and oyster bar Muli Express – it’s much smaller, standing room-only sibling. But when patrons started to ask for more than just oysters – like a glass of wine, or seating – the family decided to open another venue, two doors down.
So that people would stop whining. Stop Whining, which opened in 2025, is the result. Size wise, it lands somewhere between the two Mulis – less expansive than the Carlton mothership, with a good amount of tables and counter-like perches.
There’s still plenty of oysters, unrinsed and served in seawater, to preserve their unadulterated flavour. But they’re joined by other bivalves, like steamed mussels, as well as plenty of submarine representatives from the fish and crustacean worlds. For drinks, the focus is on seafood-friendly pours. That means a wine list heavy on Chablis, as well as a tight line-up of sakes.
