Features
Mr & Mrs P is named after the owners, Mr Greg and Mrs Georgia Poliwodzinski. The couple also previously owned Treehouse Lounge in Balaclava, but they wanted to create something from the ground up.
They gutted the heritage-listed property before bringing it back to life with all the best parts of their culinary travels and industry experience. The attention to finer details is evident in the cleverly hung drinks menus and the low bar that allows patrons to watch their cocktails being mixed (the many choices are named after friends and family that lent a hand in the build). There’s also tap beer and a compact wine list.
These small touches give the space a homey feel and promote genuine interaction. There’s a bar at street level, a dining hall upstairs and a beer garden out the back.
The menu runs across all three spaces and is suitable for snacking and for a proper meal. For the former, there’s Blackmore Wagyu pastrami; saltbush leaves with soy salt and vinegar; and four types of cheese. For the latter, spicy prawn tacos; pork belly with fermented cabbage and mushroom pappardelle.
