A new Japanese restaurant, Miyazaki Gyu, is set to land in the CBD basement which previously housed Izakaya Den. Izakaya (an institution well-loved for its Japanese small plates and subterranean setting) closed earlier this year.
Mizakaya Gyu is expected to specialise in Wagyu beef. It'll be headed by hospo heavyweights Franklin Gikas and James Lockwood (Hash Specialty Coffee, Whitehorse Chloe, Platform 7 and Hot Pot). It's their first large-scale restaurant opening since the pandemic.
Mizakaya Gyu will open soon, at 118 Russel Street in the CBD.
