Last One Inn
Menu
Last One Inn started as a burger joint run by friends Josh Morrice and Jorge Guerrero. During the down time of the Covid-19 lockdown the duo reinvented the space as a bar and bistro with a South American influence.
Located across the road from Anglesea River, the 1970s beach shack was renovated with a classic, sun-drenched lifestyle in mind. Think white-washed walls, an open fire, velvet couches with olive accents. In summer picnic blankets and umbrellas take over the front lawn, and hanging lamps woven from leaves of the paja tetera palm tree hover above the bar.
The seasonal menu focuses on local ingredients as much as possible, with a distinct South American influence. The Cape Grim steak is a popular staple, and a bowl of fries is always a winner by the river. The roast pumpkin is our pick of the vegan dishes, while the only item that remains from the burger bar days is a fried cauliflower dish (which has earned cult status with the regulars).
There’s a fine cocktail list, leaning on classics such as dark and stormy, Moscow mule, bloody Mary and espresso martini, plus tequila and Great Ocean Road gin. Coffee is by St Ali.
During the warmer months, the venue hosts mini-festivals celebrating food and music working in tandem, such as techno and burgers or live cooking asado-style barbeque and Latin guitar. Bookings are essential in summer or busy weekends. On a warm evening you'd be hard pressed to find a spot on the coast with a livelier atmosphere.
